Water Features & Fountains

Water features – ponds, pools, a river, waterfalls and water fountains of varied types are a major feature of the Botanical Gardens. Part of the original development, they have been improved and will be added to. Water purifies, “water has no enemy”. Enjoy the sound and sight of water in the Gardens, especially at the following locations:

“RAINBOW FOUNTAIN POOL” – a large Nymphaea-filled Lily Pool with central fountain.
Location: just after the Gatehouse entrance. On the right side.

“THE RIVER” – running water, leading to waterfalls and pools.
Location: just after the Gatehouse entrance. On the left side.

“THREE COPPER KETTLES” - artfully placed ‘coppers’ – historic sugar-boiling vats or ‘kettles’, here used as a water feature.
Location: at the center of the lawn in front of the Nevisian Great House/Gallery/Restaurant.

“THREE MERMAIDS” – an exotic sculptural fountain, featuring seated mermaids.
