Further Development Plans

  • Future plans include free-flying tropical butterflies on the Rainforest Conservatory and humming bird feeders in strategically placed locations. We also have a number of strategically placed beehives to help pollination while creating our own unique brand of honey.
  • The Botanical Gardens management will encourage regular school visits and the involvement of a wider Nevisian public.
  • The potential for horticultural training is also an area for development as is more emphasis on growing endemic Caribbean species within the Botanic Gardens and on biodiversity conservation.
  • Closer ties with botanical gardens elsewhere and the professional links through BGCI will help in achieving these future goals.
